Subscription to our message group is limited to smwyc members and spouse (or significant other).

TO SUBSCRIBE:
If you are a member, please include your name and email address.
If you are a spouse or significant other, please include your name, your email address and the name of the primary smwyc member.

Here are a few rules governing participation in the message group.

• This message group is for members of SMWYC, including spouses or significant others.
• The smwyc web committee manages this message group and adds and deletes email addresses as it is informed of new or departing yc members.
• The purpose of this group is to have a forum where smwyc members can post items of interest that are useful and informative to most group members. This could include upcoming events, a shared boating experience, or educational information regarding boating. Also, all members of the group automatically receive the weekly newsletter, THIS WEEK AT SMWYC.

Guidelines for Using This Medium:

• There is no need to CC: a YC member in an email. More than likely that member will get the email through the group.
• If you wish to reply to a message, the current default sends your reply to just the member that sent the message. If you feel it should go the entire group, replace the name in the to: field with the group email smwyc@yahoogroups.com
• Before you reply to a message, it helps readability if you delete all extraneous headers and other unneeded info before hitting the send button.
• Please be polite and refrain from slanderous or critical comments. Keep your messages positive.
• Advertising, promotions, jokes and political or religious messages are not allowed.
• Please limit signatures to a maximum of 3 short lines with no advertisements.
• Violations of our internet service provider rules, such as impersonated, fictitious, or camouflaged identities cannot be tolerated.
• If you know of internal problems with yahoo mail, have suggestions for smwyc's web site or wish to post a suggestion or complaint that involves yacht club management, please send your email to smwyc@yahoo.com and not to everyone in the message group. We will forward your email to the appropriate flag officer or committee chair.
