SESSION 2 TAKES US TO NEXT STEP!
FRIDAY NIGHT MATCH RACING SERIES – SESSION #2
Even if you missed the first night, join us for the second session of Match Racing Fridays this Friday, May 18 at 5:30pm on the G600 dock. We will provide crew on our two equally matched Capri 22s, teach you unique boat handling and tactical skills and give you lots of time on the water to refine those skills. No matter if you are a novice or an expert, we promise you will learn a ton and have a great time doing it.
The first session was a big success and fun for all that skippered, crewed, help with the race committee work or just watched the fun. Every skipper got to do two full start sequences entering from each side and others just hopped on to be part of the action.
In the second session we will move beyond the start and introduce a short upwind/downwind race course. The chalk talk will focus on boat handling and the tactics and maneuvers used upwind in downwind. We will also introduce protest flags and procedures.
In the June 1 finale we'll set up a bracket and fire off as many races as we can and we might even keep score! There will be live music in the Bar on these nights and your non-sailing friends can watch the action from the balcony and then listen all of our stories afterwards.
For all this fun we are only asking for a $15 per night contribution to help cover the cost of our Junior Instructors who will be crewing the boats and the beer and water we'll provide on the dock. Getting a taste of Match Racing couldn't be made more accessibe so send an email RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org and join us for the most fun you've had in a long time!
